Today I headed to Veronaville's Academie Le Tour to play Miranda Capp.

On Saturday morning, Miranda gained a cooking point while making herself an omelette breakfast. She called her friend, Prof. Bill Cwik to invite him over. She was actually feeling pretty lonely and the social bunny arrived to cheer her up at the same time as Prof. Bill. She spend some time updating her nature blog before spending some simoleons on a solar panel for the roof. She then invited her BFF and ex-roommate, Max Flexor over as well. This wasn't the greatest of ideas, since Max hates Prof. Bill with a passion. Prof. Bill, being a drama professor, was oblivious to Max's extreme distaste for him, and proceeded to make passes at Max at every opportunity. Max had definitely had enough and started a backyard fight with him. Max kicked his butt, too. At this point, I decided to move Marla Biggs out of her dorm accomodation and in with Miranda, as it was time for Miranda's final exam and she was not going to pass. Marla is in her first semester of junior year, majoring in biology. Anyhow, Marla went to class and Miranda went to her final exam. Miranda was of course expelled - too much nature hobby enjoyment and no study will do it every time. She moved back to Veronaville proper, leaving Marla with the care of the bird, Goldeneye. As soon as she was back from class, Marla managed to convince that pesky cow mascot to make himself useful and cook her a spaghetti dinner. She then called her professor, Prof. Jill Carlson and invited her over in the hope that they would become friends. (Prof. Jill is Prof. Rose Sharpe's replacement - and she has townified/geneticized eyes, hooray!) Marla and Prof. Jill became friends rather easily and Marla headed out back to tend to Goldeneye's filthy cage. She wasn't at all tired and decided to pull an all-nighter. She called her best friend, Prof. Alvin Shahan and invited him over too.
Marla was horrified at the state that the house's previous occupants had left it in. Everything was as filthy as it could possibly be, not to mention that there was a weed problem that was beyond out of control. Every piece of grass on the entire lot had a thistle growing out of it. Marla thought the task was beyond her and called to organize a daily maid service in the early hours of Sunday morning. She spent a little time bonding with Goldeneye, who liked her pretty well since she'd cleaned his cage - a rarity in his life! She then made a start on the mammoth task of pulling weeds - she got about halfway through them before she didn't feel she could tackle any more just now. She gained membership to Peerless Park purely on account of her wish to make the lot look tidier. She went for a nap until classtime, and when she got back from class she harvested some rather bland apples from the apple tree out front. She spent her evening trying to catch fireflies and failing miserably at it.
On Monday morning, Marla went on a hike and while hiking she met Kent Capp. She went to class and afterwards spend a great deal of time birdwatching. She went on a second hike and this time walked through a patch of poison ivy and was incredibly itchy. She ran off to her final exam itching like crazy, and due to the fact that just like Miranda, she was too involved in nature enthusiasm to study, she was put on academic probation. She blamed it on having to sit through an exam immediately after contact with poison ivy - who could think when they were that itchy? But we know better... Maybe next time she'll study! She was pretty bummed. She purchased a bass to cheer herself up.

Ugh, what is it with any college sim with nature enthusiasm not caring at all about college anymore? I didn't even intentionally give her enthusiasm for it - whoever decided to program in pulling weeds as nature enthusiasm building should be fired! Soon as she'd pulled all those weeds, all her wants from then on were nature hobby related (apart from wanting a bass, that is..)

Later, I decided to move Miranda in to her first home as an adult back in Veronaville.

After furnishing her home on Monday morning (man, why does the game have to begin on Monday by default? Can't it just be random so there's some variety?) Miranda invited her friend Prof. Bill Cwik over to see her new home. He asked if he could bring a friend, who turned out to be townie Christa Hsu, which was just as well as Miranda was hoping to meet somebody new. (And I wish they brought actual friends - he and Christa couldn't stand each other and had many a slapfest throughout the day). Over a jello lunch, Miranda told Christa all sorts of outrageous lies in an attempt to impress her.

After lunch, Miranda settled down on the couch with a cookbook and gained two cooking points. She gained membership to Sue's Secret Kitchen. However, this newfound enthusiasm for cuisine didn't make any difference to her nature hobby wants. Nature remains her one true love.
Prof. Bill called Miranda on Tuesday morning and after a long chat they became best friends. Miranda spent a good deal of her day in the backyard with a pair of binoculars indulging in some birdwatching. Afterwards, she invited Prof. Bill over to hang out for the remainder of the day.
Miranda started Wednesday morning with some more birdwatching. She then tried to hunt up some new bugs for her collection, but being Miranda, she was immediately chased by a swam of bees. Yup, she's still amazingly accident prone when it comes to her favorite hobby.

After recovering from her ordeal, Miranda headed back outside in to the sunshine to try to catch some butterflies that were flitting about by the mailbox. She failed miserably at this and they eventually disappeared without her managing to trap any. She trudged out to the backyard again to try bug hunting again (she's a sucker for punishment!) Surprisingly, she actually caught a vampire butterfly for her collection before - you guessed it! - being chased by bees yet again!

She invited a recent acquaintance, townie Jonathan Ternynck over in the hopes of befriending him. She didn't succeed, but they did end up getting ot know each other a little better.

I'm actually happy with how Miranda looks now that she's no longer in her hideous fashion disaster of a college outfit. And now that she's got my new default replacement skintone, she's actually far more attractive than she seemed with regular maxis skintone. So, score! She's actually looking pretty cute.

Played my Davis family in Strangetown today.  Almeric Davis (the twin with glasses from La Fiesta Tech that came with University).  He was recently expelled from college due to being far too busy partying.  He moved in to Strangetown right next door to the Smith family and married a lovely sim girl named Rebecka.  They have a son, whom I named Al as it struck my fancy for all Davis males to have similar names.

Today's gameplay saw Almeric finally find his LTW career on the computer.  He wishes to be a Rock God, and he already got his first promotion today, as well as teaching his toddler son to talk and becoming best friends with Sanjay Ramaswami.  His wife Rebecka also finally found her LTW career (criminal), won her first cooking contest, taught little Al to walk and to use the potty by himself.  Al grew up well in to a child and was sent off to his first day of school.  Rebecka spent several hours cleaning up baby bottles and now the house looks neat, though rather undecorated.

What's happened to Almeric in your games so far?

After that I headed over to Veronavilla to play Miranda Capp.  She's in college at Academie Le Tour now, and grew into a far less attractive young adult than she was a teen.  She lives alone with her bird, Goldeneye.

Today's gameplay saw Miranda get put on academic probation after failing to do any study in her first semester of junior year.  She's an art major, by the way.  This academic probation didn't deter her from continuing to do no study, however.  Miranda's spent her time pursuing her hobby.  She's a huge nature buff.  She's spent her days birdwatching, hunting bugs and being chased by bees twice (Miranda always gets chased by bees more than any of my other sims), drinking at her bar, and playing with her gameboy in the bathroom.  She harvested her first apples today, which were bland.  She went fishing in her pond but caught nothing but an old boot.  She went on a lovely evening hike, but ran in to some poison ivy and itched for several hours.  She's only about eight hours from her next final exam and it looks like she'll be expelled for sure.  Maybe she'll grow into a less hideous adult.  We can only hope....

What have you done with Miranda?  Have you found a way to make her less unattractive in your game without plastic surgery?
