The Fennell Legacy: Generation 3: Chapter 9

Yes, once again my teaser is a spoiler - this time on how Des turned out!
In our last episode: Sonny's ghost tried her very best to kill Rich during his teen years but was thankfully unsuccessful, three of the Fennell children were admitted to private school and Rich snagged his very first kiss from a townie named Rainbow.


Octavius is a total night owl thanks to the nightly ghost menace.  He is always woken in the wee hours, completely refreshed and ready to game the night away.


Vada has grown in to a very cute little fairy girl.  She's quite edgy in her fashion sense, but don't let her look fool you - she's as cripplingly shy as her brother Rich!


Patricia: "Aww, look Des - your grandma Carrie's boyfriends have all turned out for your birthday party!"
Yes, almost all of Carrie's former boyfriends still visit her family.  She is one sadly missed woman!


Carrie thought it was high time she too visited the family.  She was most pleased to see her boyfriends Stuart and Tyrell #1 and gladly scared the pants off them.


Octavius: "Uhh, okay, seriously.... you dogs need to learn personal space...."
Octavius hasn't really bonded with either of the family's new dogs.  That's alright though - the youngest Fennells adore their new pets as they weren't even born when Zara and Ardeen died.


Des never plays with his own toys, preferring the company of Patricia's old doll.
And I just realized, I forgot to give his stats!  Bad, bad Simgod Izza!

Leslie has been visiting often and taking a big interest in her youngest sibling.
Note: When I took this picture, I also realized I still had those hideous portraits of Natasha and Carrie on the living room wall.  They were promptly sold, as there are far nicer portraits of them all over the house.


Patricia is such a dedicated student that even a burning building can't keep her from her homework.


Leslie, on the other hand, is properly horrified at nanny Helena's neglectful cooking fail.
Leslie: "Helena!  If you're going to cook a turkey, at least remember it's in the oven!"


Achilles: "Hey, mom!  Look at me!  I got an A+ on my report card!"
Bijou: *sigh* "Yes, I know, dear.  I'm your teacher, remember?  I gave it to you."


Leslie: "Daddy, why haven't you named an heir yet....?  Is... is it because it's not me?  Am I the last to know?  Huh?  Well, could I at least have one of the genie lamp wishes?  If I'm not heir...?"
Gallagher: "Now, sweetie, you know I haven't decided yet.  You're all such good kids and I love you all equally...."
Poor Gallagher.  He's such a big-hearted man, he would hate to hurt any of his children's feelings.


How a ghost can hold a stick to play fetch with another ghost is beyond me....


Zara: "Patricia!  You will pay for not resurrecting me!"
Vada: "Ahhhhh!"


Lately, Patricia has felt a little down.  All her hard work keeping an A+ average, as well as all her extra-curricular study of ballet and cleaning have left her wondering - is it worth it?  Sure, she'll be assured scholarships galore to start college with.... but it's left so little time for her to follow her more womanly desires.  Will she ever find somebody who likes her enough for a first kiss?


Achilles has joined the ranks of hormone-ridden teens....

Yup, Achilles is gay.  Hooray, finally a gay Fennell!  Suddenly, this picture takes on new meaning though....


It was Bijou's birthday as well.  Having eight children with barely a day to breathe has aged her terribly beyond her years.  Still, she seems pleased not to have to worry about pregnancy anymore!
Note: Because Bijou was rarely above green aspiration for most of her life (due to constant hard pregnancies where staying alive was her main concern), she ended up getting much less elixer of life than Gallagher.  Much less.


Bijou is very conscious of being a sensibly dressed, non-skanky older woman.  She still remembers the scorn she felt as a young woman toward her mother-in-law Carrie, and would never want anybody to think that way about her!


Sonia!  I haven't seen you in forever!  And aww, look at you playing with Sonny!  That's right, lovelies, keep each other busy and leave the living alone....


Poor, neglected youngest child of ten.  Des doesn't get nearly as much attention from his Simgod as the other children did.  However, his parents dote on him just as much as they did the other nine!


Sonny: "Boo!  Muahahaha!"
Octavius: "Mommy!  Help!"


Octavius was most upset about the accident he had when he was scared by Sonny.  He wants so much for others to think of him as a big boy!


Bijou doesn't have many senior moments, but they aren't nonexistent.


Apparently, Gallagher has yet to sit Octavius down and have the "never hit a girl" talk.  Octavius' friend Mena doesn't mind so much, though.... they became friends when they realized their outfits totally matched and they made a very fashionable pair indeed.  They are the envy of the entire playground.


At least he's attractive.  Vacant, but so attractive....  *sigh*


Des has grown in to a very quiet, dreamy child.  He rarely speaks to anybody, just tiptoes around being happy.  He spends most of his time with the dogs.


Patricia: "Why does she have to be so mean?  I never even knew her and she's always jumping out and scaring me!"
Sonny: I will have revenge on everybody in this family, generation after generation.  My soul cannot rest until one of their lives pays for mine!


Sonny: *chuckles softly*
Patricia: *sob*


I neglect the new dogs, but they do get love.  Often.  And they really are cute.  Especially Lulu.  She's my favourite of the two, and if Zara wasn't still so fresh in my mind, I'd probably take millions of pictures like this.  But my heart is still with Zara.....


Bijou: "Lighten up!  At least you still have your looks."
Sonny: Oh, no she didn't! 


The small garden is thriving under the attention of all the Fennell children.  None of them think of it as a chore, and all pitch in to make sure the harvest will be edible.


Patricia and Des often keep one another company since Des discovered Leslie's old easel lying around unused.  While Patricia dances, he paints her.  Or rather, his representation of her.  He's not great at capturing people yet....


Gallagher: "I can't believe you're still with us, Teddy.  How long do birds live, anyway?"
Teddy: "Kiss kiss!  Rawk!"
Yes, this is seriously the same Teddy that Gallagher purchased as a teenager.  How long do simbirds live if they're taken care of properly?  I've never had one live this long!


Gallagher's first priority at all times is his little ones.  He just doesn't feel like he can relax until he's sure they're tucked in, even when they're sleeping the weekend away.


Study has replaced woohoo for these two.  It is most definitely a mature marriage, which makes me sad.  They literally haven't even kissed, let alone woohooed since Des was conceived.... all the spark seems to be gone and the two would rather sit on the couch reading together than try to get it back.....


Achilles: "Oh no!  Not the flowers!  Anything but the flowers!"


Achilles brought in the harvest of mouthwatering tomatoes.  He wanted to sell them, but after Gallagher explained that they wouldn't need to spend so much on groceries, Achilles saw the true benefit of all his hard gardening work.  A simoleon saved is a simoleon earned!


Vada Fennell - Fierce Fisherwoman!


Octavius is less fierce when it comes to his catches.  He's no less satisfied, however.


I had no idea you could actually see shooting stars in the sky!  No idea.  This is why I love this game - I am constantly finding new things!


Now that even the youngest Fennell children are in school, Gallagher has found that cooking is more than just a way to feed his brood - it can also be fun!  He finally became confident enough in his abilities to enter a cooking contest (though he had no reason not be confident - he had 9 cooking points!)
Note: Sexy blonde cooking hobby guy would make a nice possibility for Gen. 6 spouse......


Sexiest Food Judge In the Land: "Don't look so worried!  These pork chops are the best I ever had... what are you doing later....?
Gallagher: *mumbles* "Going home to my wife who doesn't want me anymore...."
Sexy Food Judge awarded him the blue ribbon, along with an extreme case of bedroom eyes.


Achilles has his own bedroom now.  He's the first Fennell child of this generation to enjoy such luxury!  Why....?


Patricia went to college!  And she is just as beautiful as I always knew she would be!  We'll leave her for now to go stake out her dorm room, shall we?


Oh yeah, Achilles is loving his newfound personal space!


Gallagher is not so happy.  He's worried about Bijou's newfound indifference towards him.  And he feels that his day is full of loose ends now that he hasn't any babies to care for during the day.  He really wants another baby, but Bijou is too old and she's told him already she doesn't want him "cheating" with any more fairy hoochies.  She's told him that if he's bored, he should get a job and be a productive member of society.  He doesn't get it.  Bijou used to understand him.  He is a house-husband.  He takes care of the house, the children, the cooking, the pets.  In his spare time, he sometimes writes on his blogs or learns a new recipe.  The workplace just doesn't feel like the right thing for him.  And now, wanting more babies and not being able to have them - his wife seeming like she doesn't love him anymore - it just eats him up inside.....


Achilles, however, lives for work.  He's the first child in this generation to want a job!  He found a place working at a law firm.  Sure, it's not what he plans to do for the rest of his life, but he can afford nice things, like the stylish living chair he bought for his new bedroom.


Stella Arquero by rhiannon_alexis  dropped by to meet the family.  She is all kinds of win!


Bijou has finally been promoted to high school teacher.  She's not content with that, of course.  She's already working hard to earn another promotion.  She did bring home a wonderful new bookcase, which is sure to come in handy....


Zara tries to tell Bijou that she should be spending time with Gallagher instead of skilling, but Bijou doesn't understand...


Achilles seriously spends most of his time in his room.  He's determined to see some more money coming in, and so he finds Riley, one of the dogs, a job in service.


Octavius: "Vada, you should go call the matchmaker now - she's gonna need the head start to find a guy who'd want a freaky fairy chick like you!"
Vada: I will not cry.  Not in front of you.  I will hold it all inside. *wibble*
Siblings can be so cruel....


Octavius grew up as handsome as expected, even if he is mean to his sister.

And it was time for more Fennell's to go to college.....


Achilles.  He sure grew up cute, but he's most definitely not heir.  He will be joining the dormie ranks.


And Octavius - devilishly handsome and also not heir.  I feel somewhat bad - he wasn't even a teen for 12 hours before I shipped him off to college, but regardless, he gets to become a dormie as I'm not playing him through college.  Tough decisions.  They had to be made.


Little Des is discovering the joys that come from taking an interest in nature!


Bijou is discovering another side to nature.......


What's this?  Gallagher going on vacation?  Without his family?  That's right!  Off to the never-yet-visited vacation home he goes!


Well... almost without his family.  You see, he invited Patricia along so the two could have some privacy.  He had something very important to tell her....
Gallagher: "Honey, I've asked you to come on vacation with me not just so we could spend time together, but because I've made my decision.  You're my heir!  You're sensible and you're commited to your goal of reaching the top of the paranormal career.  You've always been a good girl and done what's right and I know you'll carry on the family name after I'm gone.  Here.... I have something for you...."
Patricia: "Ooh, it's everything from your inventory!"
Gallagher: "Almost everything.  There's one more thing.  If you work hard in college... well... the day you graduate, I'll give you the deed to this vacation home as a graduation gift."
Patricia: "I love you, Dad.  I won't let you down."
Gallagher: "I know you won't, sweetie..."
Time for extremely short vacation spam!


Waiting for the tour bus to come.  Gallagher brought Patricia on the parasailing tour.


Back at the family vacation home - Gallagher whips up his first ever baked alaska.


Scary Vacation Local: "Never been kissed, eh?  Let's change all that now..."
Patricia: "Ugh, get lost, creep!  I'd rather never be kissed than be kissed by you!"
And this is where Patricia glitched out and would not move.  She was frozen.  Tried forcing an error on her, tried making her selectable, ended up having to clear her from the lot just so Gallagher could go home.  Freaked out and ran to college to make sure she was there and not broken.  She was fine, and even got her vacation benefit points.  But, ugh!  Scary and so sad!  I wanted them to have a long, happy three days, just the two of them.  Instead they got... most of one day....


Back home, bored house-husband Gallagher has taken to spying on his neighbours..... it's the only time of day Bijou will let him near the telescope anymore....


And guess who found the perfect way to grow in to her unusual looks....?  That's right, Vada has gone all adorable and goth.  I squee'd when I saw her, seriously.

Vada and Des share what was recently Achilles' bedroom.  Vada isn't too pleased to be sharing when there is a bedroom empty, but what she doesn't realize is that next time I play the house, it won't be empty.....

Aw, poor Gallagher, he looks so sad and I feel so sorry for him, I really hope he will find a way to make things get better with Bijou!
Still, all the kids grew up wonderfully, Patricia is so beautiful (also, creepy local is creepy!) and Vada is gorgeous! :D

I hope Gallagher and Bijou can work things out too... however, there's always a chance with her pushing him away constantly that he might finally give in to his secondary romance sim instincts...

Vada's hair..... Umm... I know it's a Peggy hair, and I know it can be found under Peggy/femalehair on the booty, but for the life of me I can't remember what number it is....
