Yes, I know I'm doing like, a million things already. But I downloaded Psychosim's Simford Prison recently and fell in love with it. I haven't done an asylum challenge in a couple of years, and once I had the perfect building I started feeling an itch for a new asylum challenge that just wouldn't go away. Especially when I went back and looked at pennysims ' awesome asylum challenge pictures!
It's called New Bedlam Asylum purely because that's what's on the coveralls I have, and I hate lack of continuity in such things. I haven't really changed it much. It was awesome the way it was! It's located in my Legacyville, in the downtown area.
I will mostly be following classic asylum challenge rules with a few exceptions:
I can have as many skilling objects and fun objects as I darn well like (because it gets boring to watch sims using the same three objects their entire lives) so long as they fit in to the theme of my asylum.
The aspiration of the controllable is not restricted to non-family.
I can use the job seeker noticeboard to get my controllable a job (as I have like, fifty custom careers in game and I don't want to just wait around forever for the newspaper to have a LTW related job).
And since I have ACR installed, if my inmates get pregnant, so be it!
All first random walkbys (the first of the two in 10am, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm time slots) are considered volunteers. If the controllable is available, she must greet them and let them come in to entertain the inmates.
These updates will mostly be picture heavy with very little text at all. I'm just playing for fun, and I can't not take pictures, so I might as well share them.
Ready to meet my inmates......?
Norabelle is my controllable. When I was creating, I actually intended Tottie to be my controllable, but her LTW was to Have 50 Dream Dates so I changed my mind immediately upon moving them in and chose Norabelle instead. She's a family sim. Norabelle, true to her childlike nature, desperately wants to be a superhero. In one session with her psychiatrist, he humored her and said he would declare her sane the day she became a superhero. She has taken up the challenge!

It didn't fit on his picture, but Logan also has trouble distinguishing video games from reality. He is the only person who doesn't think his t-shirt is a joke.
And here are the highlights of Day One:
"Harry" is fail at piano.
Molly's advances make Arden uncomfortable.
Everybody is impolite about "Harry's" piano skills.
Norabelle enjoys ice cream for lunch. Scotty pines for Tottie.
First to volunteer his time at the asylum is Tyrell #1 (who I should really just start calling Tyrell since Moonbeam organized Tyrell #2's untimely end....)
Sunday is amused by the lack of bathroom privacy.
Scotty continues to pine for Tottie. Tottie enjoys the attention.
Sunday surprises Arden with a hug. He doesn't remember, but he was her boyfriend before the bad acid trip that destroyed his tiny mind.
Moonbeam Frost is the second volunteer of the day. Is she just being a bored housewife, or are her intentions more sinister?
Scotty comes out of his shell.
Molly takes advantage of "Harry's" belief that she is Hermione. Full advantage.
Ticky has also volunteered. She and Moonbeam are clearly inseperable.
Norabelle, like many little girls, enjoys ballet. (I know I did at her mental age!) She needs these body points for her law enforcement career promotions. She had the day off, but hopefully her first promotion will be forthcoming on her first day of work?
"Harry" constantly refers to Arden as "Professor Snape". He doesn't pay any attention at all.
Harry: "More tea, Professor Dumbledore?"
Tyrell #1: "Please."
Scotty fingerguns absolutely nobody. The room is empty.
An almost lucid moment for "Harry". However, stinking to high heaven and reading "Chamber of Secrets" for the fifty-fourth time doesn't count.
Communal shower lacks privacy.
Scotty is scandalized by Sunday's complete lack of progress.
Arden: "Pour me some tea, serving girl."
Moonbeam: "You have two hands. Pour it yourself."
Arden: "These aristocratic hands were not made for such low acts as pouring tea!"
Moonbeam: *hides own teacup below table level in case he tries to take her tea*
I don't think it was Scotty, but somebody didn't make it to the toilet....
Sunday is on a 24/7 liquid diet. Nobody but Norabelle has eaten anything yet.

I think I have a soft spot for Arden and Tottie and I like the fact that Arden and Sunday were togheter before Arden had... That problem. And Norabelle is adorable!
I can't wait to see more!

Tottie is Amelie, right? She's so adorable no matter where you put her.
Maybe "Harry" thinks he's trapped in Azkaban? :D Also, I must be very geeky, because I recongized the 'life meter' on Logan's shirt as the life meter in Legend of Zelda. (Maybe he believes he is Link?)
Looks like a lot of fun. Keep it up.

actually, believe it or not, tottie ISN'T amelie...
she is a completely new sim that i created just for this challenge, and though she has a few superficial resemblances to amelie (big dark eyes, but hers are dark blue) she didn't even start off as amelie :) she started off as a face template and was heavily edited by me until I liked the look of her... heh i actually didn't notice they looked similar until i got this message, but I think it's one of those things, where people's sims resemble each other based on their own ideas of "pretty"...
