Today I headed to Veronaville to finally move Jonah Powers in to a new home.  When we last saw Jonah, his wife Virginia had just divorced him after catching him out cheating on her.  She kicked him out of the house and he wandered Veronaville for many months, having to do unspeakable things he would rather nobody ever heard about, to earn the deposit for a new home.

Jonah finally settled on a small house on the outskirts of Veronaville's quiet Bluewater Village district.  All it needed was a fresh coat of paint and some furniture, which he willingly purchased.  Thankfully for Jonah, a kind townie named Troy Go once gave him a free sample of a flat screen television set, and he still had a lovely computer that had been left on his doorstep from when he moved in to his previous home, so electronics were not something that he required.

The first thing he did was to fire up said computer and go job hunting.  A job in the slacker career as a Convenience Store Clerk looked promising, and his application was immediately accepted.  He celebrated getting his first job by purchasing a bar for the living area - a must have in any bachelor pad!  He then settled down to do some studying and gained a mechanical point.

Later that day, he decided the only thing missing in his bachelor pad was a companion.  A fellow bachelor like himself who would never tell his many girlfriends that they weren't the only girl in his life.  Hence he called the pound to adopt an adorable little puppy, whom he named Corey.  Jonah hoped they would enjoy a long life of bachelorhood together, and that when he grew up in to the large, menacing dog he was sure to become, he would protect the home from unwanted intruders.  Intruders like Virginia, who had already made her continued anger felt through newspaper stealing and trashcan kicking, and was stalking the house quite alarmingly.  Jonah then called a bunch of friends to invite them to a housewarming party.  He and one of his many girlfriends, Demi Capp, disappeared in to the bedroom for some alone time during the party, after which Jonah fell asleep.  Pfft!  Men!  The party was a raging success, however.  The only downside to Jonah's post coital nap was that he was awake and refreshed at 10pm.  An all nighter was definitely on the cards!
And so in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Jonah took a cab to My Muse - Music & Dance Studio to enter his first dance contest.  It didn't go so well and he lost to the local pizza delivery boy.

Jonah: "Aww, man!  He's making me look bad in front of the pretty girl!"
Jonah wasn't going to take that lying down, and challenged him to another dance off.  This time Jonah was victorious and pocketed a much needed cash prize.  He wasn't content with just this one victory, however.  He immediately hailed a cab to take him over to Sue's Secret Kitchen where he whipped up a plate of caramel-apple pecan waffles and entered his first cooking contest.  He was a little worried at first when he saw that the owner had entered a baked alaska - something that was beyond Jonah's abilities - but he was pleasantly surprised when the judge awarded him the blue ribbon and his second cash prize for the day.  He headed home very pleased with himself indeed and went to bed for a nice nap, since he wasn't to start his job until Wednesday.  He woke again at 1pm and called some people to invite them to a party.  After blending up some cocktails for his guests, Jonah surprisingly hit the books!

Noelle: "This is a party?  What are you studying for?"
Jonah: "This won't take long.  I've been working on this for a while and I think I've nearly got it!"
Jonah finally, after many hours of study snatched here and there over the past few years, mastered the art of couples counselling.  His own marriage may have been the stuff of fail, but he knew he could help others avoid his own disasters.  Feeling smug, he served up a plate of his prizewinning waffles to his guests, to much fanfare.  Everybody has a good time at the party.  He was feeling perhaps too smug by this stage, and immediately called some more people to invite them to yet another party!  It all started well - he kept the cocktails flowing and was a genuinely attentive host.  However, the cow mascot got in to several scuffles with Mitch Indie and the party quickly became a disaster.

Jonah woke at 4am, crushed beyond words at the failure of his last party.  Poor guy.  He really was genuinely upset.  He cooked some lovely french toast for his breakfast in an attempt to cheer himself up.  It didn't quite work, but it was delicious all the same.  Since he had some extra cash thanks to the previous day's competition winnings, he purchased his own car and also, just for fun, a remote controlled car as well.  Boys will be boys!  He then called the local music & dance studio owner, Noelle Dennis, for a quick chat before heading off to his first ever day at work.  His bosses must have been very happy with him, as he was promoted the same day to Record Store Clerk.

He once again called Noelle for a chat in the hopes of getting to know her a little better.  She mostly wanted to talk about shoes, a subject which Jonah had little interest in, but she did agree to come over and spend the evening at his house.

Once Noelle arrived, the two bonded over their common love of music and dance.  It wasn't long before Jonah could count Noelle among his many friends.

.... but could Jonah really ever be just friends with a pretty girl like Noelle?  Not a chance!  He soon turned on his famous charm and she was instantly smitten.  Just one more girlfriend in an ever growing lineup.  His prettiest so far, though.  Several very chaste kisses were exchanged.  Jonah didn't want to move too fast with Noelle.  Her obvious shyness told him she wasn't the sort of girl who would woohoo on the first date.  He did, however, ask her if she'd like to stay the night - no funny business - just to spend time together.  She readily agreed to this.  Jonah was true to his word and didn't try anything.  Noelle was sweetly apprehensive about actually sleeping in the same bed with a man - she'd never done anything like that before! - and spent the entire evening drinking at Jonah's bar.  Jonah was just waking up as she found the courage to crawl in to bed beside him....
