Also, I have a question for you all.  Today I noticed the weirdest glitch when I went in to Create-a-Sim to move in a pre-made saved sim I made in Bodyshop.  Some of the sims in the folder were showing previews of completely different sims in the folder.  For a moment I thought I had extreme borkiness where sims had overwritten each other and I was terrified of all the clones.  But when I clicked the sim, they showed up as the sim they were supposed to be.  Just a preview picture bug.  Has anybody else had this happen, and do you know whether it's a sign of impending doom, or just a common bug that I've never experienced before?  I know that it wasn't like that yesterday - I was in the folder yesterday and everybody looked like who they were supposed to be in their preview then...

I've had the same thing happen a few times. I've no idea how serious this bug (or whatever it is) is though. Well, it's been happening for me a long time now and my game hasn't yet exploded...

That's happened in my game, as well, in fact, a lot of the sims I've downloaded appear to be another sim, but they aren't. Everything's fine though, so I don't think it's serious.

It's happened to me quite a few times. Try deleting your thumbnail folder and restart the game. :) Let me know if that works.

Hi Izza! Where can I find out where all the Sims2 terms come from like geneticized, townie (I know what a townie is but not as applied to CC), binned, etc., when looking at downloads for skins, hair, eyes, and the like?

Thanks!

Townified/townie friendly means that that piece of CC has a chance of appearing on any newly created townie or on your sims when they age up (eg. it makes the custom content behave like maxis clothing or hair)
Geneticized means that a skintone or eye color has been given a genetic value. Custom skintones and eyes that aren't geneticized are always dominant genetics-wise, but if given a value they behave as dominant and recessive, like real life eyes, etc.
Binned applies to hair (+ facial hair + eyebrows) and it just means that a natural color will show up under the correct tab (eg. blonde, black) instead of in the custom hair bin with all your unnatural/neon hair colors.
Hope this answers all your questions :) relatively sure I covered everything...

okay, repository.. umm, this one is less easy to explain for me as I don't work with objects, but I have a basic understanding of what it means... it means that an object (or window, door, etc) pulls textures (colors or patterns) from another object in the set. so let's say that you download a set of objects from adele (a lot of those sets are repository'd) they say that the items use the repository technique, and that you have to keep a particular one of those objects for the rest of the objects in the set to show up properly...

that's my understanding of what it means, anyway... people can correct me if I'm wrong about that, as like I said, I never work with objects - they're beyond my capabilities at present, like meshes :)

Gotcha because I've seen some people who do objects put it just that way instead of using the term repository.

Thanks again!

new needlecream and pooklet downloads? Droolworthy. My download folder now contains a subfolder just for your finds.

Hey, funny thing happened a bit ago. I was trying to find instructions for wardrobe wrangler. I used the term 'wardrobe wrangler' on google, and your journal is item #12. Check it out.

My preview pictures of sims and often clothing and hair often look different than the actual item. I've got four pages of little girl clothes that show up as the pink sweater, striped scarf, blues jeans set in the preview picture, but, when I click on it, the sim is wearing the dress I downloaded. Also, in CAS, some of my male sim downloads have a preview picture of a female sim. (It's always the same female sim.) Click on the picture and I get the male sim as he is supposed to look.

I don't guess it's bad in that my game hasn't shut down from it, but it is very annoying.
