Gameplay: December 9th 2009

Today I headed to Veronaville to play the Jacquet family. Denise Jacquet passed away a while back (and good riddance - I hated her purely due to the fact that EA/Maxis didn't code her properly and she still believed her husband to be alive, hence was unable to get married ever!) Gilbert married one of his girlfriends, Melissa (I don't remember her maiden name, it was a long time ago). This hasn't stopped Gilbert's romance sim ways, however. He's cheating on her with several other women. Gilbert works in the athletic career as a Starter and Melissa works in the medical career as a Nurse. They have a beautiful daughter named Suzanne, currently a toddler.

Wednesday began with Melissa and Gilbert heading off to work, leaving Suzanne in the care of her surprisingly capable nanny. When he got home, Gilbert started giving makeovers with his recently purchased makeover station. Melissa and Suzanne became best friends and Melissa finally managed to complete Suzanne's potty training.

Just in time, too. That evening, Suzanne grew up well in to a child. It was also Gilbert's birthday, and he grew up well in to an elder. He gave many more makeovers that evening. Melissa was in bed exhausted by 7pm. Gilbert earned his bronze cosmetology badge and gave Suzanne a new hairstyle as well as a nose piercing. He's a very permissive parent. Suzanne sweetly asked Gilbert if she could have a puppy, and there was no way he could say no to his beloved daughter. He immediately called the pet adoption service and adopted a girl puppy for Suzanne, which she named Ember. Gilbert went to bed fairly early at 9pm after a long day.
Melissa and Gilbert were both up extremely early (2:30am) on Thursday morning. Darn elders and their ability to ruin their partners' sleeping patterns! It was Melissa's day off, so it wasn't going to matter much. Gilbert watched a dvd before convincing Melissa to let him give her a small makeover (she likes her hair too much to change it!) Suzanne played on the family's pinball machine when she got up. Melissa finally decided to do some work on her long neglected second novel and gained a creativity point. Gilbert and Suzanne danced together for a while. It was also Gilbert's day off, and the school announced a snow day, so Suzanne would have to put off starting school until the next day. Seeing his wife was busy writing, Gilbert called his latest crush, Juliette Monty and asked her to meet him at Hans' Trap Door Corp for a secret tryst. After a very innocent game of red hands, he and Juliette became best friends. Gilbert followed this up with a long in depth talk about their lives. He then put the moves on Juliette with some extremely romantic slow dancing in the rain. This was all that Juliette required to have a good time and Gilbert's first date with her was a success. He headed back home immediately afterwards in fear his wife would wonder where he'd gone. Suzanne spent the morning bonding with Ember, her new puppy. They quickly became friends. Gilbert called townie Shelby Barrett for a chat in the hopes of getting to know her better. Suzanne settled down on the couch with her mother's cookbooks and earned her first cooking point. Gilbert gave many more townie makeovers. He's after the silver badge next. Melissa finally finished her novel, Seeds of Yesterday (yeah, I usually just name novels after the first book in my real life bookcase that catches my eye). It was an instant bestseller. Suzanne spent some time watching a dvd with townie Nikki Zhang. Gilbert invited Shelby over and gave her a makeover too. Suzanne headed outside in to the deep snowdrifts to build a snowman.

All the snowman building was tiring work, however. Suzanne was in bed exhausted by 4pm. Melissa started work on her third novel and gained another creativity point. Gilbert was also exhausted early on, and went to bed at 7:30pm. Suzanne was awake and feeling refreshed at 9pm - her sleeping pattern is destroyed now! Curse snow days! There wasn't a hope of her falling asleep, so she spent some time watching tv instead.
Gilbert spent the early hours of Friday morning practicing pool and Suzanne smustling in the kitchen. When Melissa woke up, she baked some festive Santa cookies for the family to enjoy.

After this extremely unhealthy but wonderful breakfast, Gilbert danced with Suzanne in the kitchen awhile. He really does dote on his daughter. It's so adorable! Melissa headed to work and Gilbert got a phone call offering him a subscription to the music and dance magazine, which he accepted. Even if he never read it, it would give the nanny something to read in her idle moments. He headed to the treadmill to work out and gained a much needed body point. Then there was just time for a quick kiss for Suzanne - it was time for Gilbert to go to work and Suzanne to catch the school bus to her very first day of school.

When she got home, Melissa continued work on her novel. Gilbert gave more townie makeovers (Veronaville's townies are looking better all the time!) Suzanne was exhausted at 4pm once again and had to go to bed to avoid passing out. Gilbert was in bed by 7:30pm again too. Suzanne was up at 11pm in time to pull another all-nighter. Her sleeping pattern doesn't look like it's going to be getting better anytime soon. At least it gave her time to do her homework and enjoy some more of Melissa's Santa cookies.
