Gameplay: August 30th 2010

Today I played a family I'd literally forgotten all about.  For a couple of years, actually.  Why?  Because before my computer upgrade, this family crashed my game after less than a sim day of play without fail, mostly because of how many sims it consists of.  And then today, I finally remembered them and decided it would be a good idea to play them so they're not caught in a terrible time warp forever.  My first step was to give their house a huge makeover, then it was down to business.

After many marriage difficulties relating to Goneril's infidelity, Albany divorced her.  Several years later, they managed to rekindle the relationship and remarried.  For this reason, Albany is now an elder whilst Goneril is still an adult.  After the second wedding, Goneril fell pregnant and gave birth to twin boys; Hector and Octavius, who are still newborns.  Hal, Desdemona and Ariel are now teens.  Albany works in the law enforcement career as a Lieutenant and Goneril works in the medical career as a General Practitioner.  The three teens attend private school and all have part time jobs.  Hal and Desdemona both work in the slacker career as Gas Station Attendants and Ariel works in the law career as a Law Firm Receptionist.  The family also has two dogs; Leroy and Jareth and a cockatoo named, predictably, Polly.  Leroy has a job as well and works in the security career as a Contraband Sniffer.  Finally, the family employs a butler named Ratna.  Now that everybody is up to date, let's get on with the picspam!


Desdemona and Polly have a very close relationship.  Whenever left to her own devices, Desdemona ignores all the expensive toys at her disposal in favor of spending time with Polly.


Goneril: "Come on, Leroy - play dead!"
Leroy: *looks confused*


Despite after school jobs and a newborn set of twins to deal with, the kids mostly manage to turn their homework in on time.


Goneril: "Get to work!  I don't pay you to stand around and look pretty!"
Ratna: *wibble*
Goneril is not kind to the help.  At all.


Albany takes chess very seriously.  One of his passions in life is games, and he rarely strays far from the chess table.


Life is very hectic for the family, but there is always time for snacking!


Jareth.


Hal: "Happy birthday, Octavius!  I've got a very special birthday gift for you and Hector.  My bedroom!  I'm moving to college after your birthday party, so I won't need it anymore.  Mom and I had a talk, and today it got redecorated with dinosaurs!  How cool is that?"
Townie Teens: "Is the birthday over yet?"


Hector.


Desdemona really is very fond of all the pets.  She tends to do all the feeding.


Octavius.


Hector looks an awful lot like his daddy!


Octavius often likes to sneak in to Jareth's bed before anybody notices for a nap.


Hector: I hate potty training.... *sigh*


Albany doesn't care that he's reached his elder years - such things are no excuse for not staying in shape!  Though considering Goneril's past infidelity, he's probably afraid of letting himself go....


Goneril celebrated her birthday as well.  Finally, no chance of more babies!
Note: I never would have chosen that particular clothing combination, but for some weird reason it tickled me when she grew up in to it, so it's totally staying.


Leroy is an excellent babysitter.


This is Hector's "I just pooped!" face.


I don't know how the family ever got along without Ratna.  Of course, they haven't employed him for long, but they're truly glad they did, for the most part.  He takes much better care of the boys than their nanny ever did and keeps the house spotless.  His only downfall is that as soon as a toy is removed from the toybox, he puts it back.


See what I mean?  Albany always looks like his chess game is very important.


Goneril: "C'mon Hector.  Say Mommy!"
Hector: "No...."


Desdemona chose not to attend college and grew in to a lovely young woman.  Ariel gave her a makeover for her birthday.  Isn't she cute?  She's very keen for a career change, but so far has had no luck finding a start in her dream job.  Someday....


Desdemona has chosen not to move out at present, as her parents could really use the extra help with the twins, not to mention Ratna's salary!  Besides, she couldn't bear to leave Polly and the dogs...

What else happened?
Ariel gained a cleaning point.
Hal got Jareth a job in Showbiz.
Goneril inherited around $3000 from Consort, her dad.
Ariel purchased a makeover station.
Goneril taught Leroy to play dead.
Goneril gained 2 mechanical points.
Goneril was offered a subscription to the Tinkering magazine.  She accepted.
Desdemona reached the top of the teen Slacker career.
Hal reached the top of the teen Slacker career.
Ariel was promoted.  She is now a Legal Secretary.
Hal won the Young Entrepeneurs Award.
Hal moved to college.
Albany gained a logic point.  He now has maxed logic.
Desdemona's relatives sent her $100 for good grades.
Albany gained a body point.
Ariel wn the Young Entrepeneurs Award.
Albany was promoted.  He is now a SWAT Team Leader.
Desdemona was promoted upon aging up.  She is now a Record Store Clerk.
Goneril taught Hector to talk.
